John Dufour retired from Amoco Oil Company after twenty-five years of service, Mr. Dufour’s professional career includes many corporate management assignments including: Manager of Engineered Equipment Sourcing world-wide; Chief Engineer, Mechanical Equipment Services for Amoco’s Refining and Transportation Company; Rotating Equipment Consultant; as well as several other management, administrative, and field positions.
He is the former Chairman of the American Petroleum Institute’s Subcommittee on Mechanical Equipment where he was responsible for developing and maintaining the API rotating equipment standards.
Mr. Dufour is the author of numerous rotating equipment technical papers, training manuals, specifications, and handbooks, that have been published and used world-wide. He is the co-author of the book Centrifugal Pump Sourcebook (McGraw Hill – New York).
Mr. Dufour is currently the president and owner of Dufour Consulting Services, located in Houston, Texas. He provides rotating equipment consulting and training services on: rotating equipment fundamentals, field trouble shooting, acceptance testing, specifications, TAR planning, equipment reliability programs, and the facilitation of strategic purchasing processes.
His clients includes, original equipment manufactures, contractors and end users from a variety of international hydrocarbon process, equipment manufacture, pipeline, and power industries.
