NEW Turbomachinery Laboratory Seminar Series: Great Opportunity for Young Researchers
New this semester, the Turbomachinery Lab (TL) Seminar Series is an initiative developed by Turbomachinery Lab Director, Dr. Eric Petersen, to encourage graduate students and postdocs to practice presenting their research to an academic audience. Professional development is one of the Turbomachinery Laboratory’s key pillars, alongside basic and applied research and graduate education.
Taking place weekly, each Tuesday afternoon at TL, the sessions will consist of technical presentations on topics covering the breadth of lab-related research.
The seminars were created with the purpose to showcase ongoing and related TL research and will occasionally feature external presenters. They are intended to be an academic gathering of TL faculty, students, staff, and any other interested attendees. Seminars will consist of 2, 25-min presentations for students and postdocs, or one, 50-min presentation per seminar for faculty or external speakers. Light refreshments will be available at the end of each seminar. Topics will come from the breadth of research currently ongoing at TL and related areas.
The Turbomachinery Laboratory is located along the 07 Airport A&M bus route from the Texas A&M University campus. A full schedule of the Seminar Series can be found on our website each semester at https://turbolab.tamu.edu/seminar-series/.
TL is excited to make available the opportunity for students to present to an academic crowd; cross-fertilization of research topics and ideas within TL and related organizations; a gathering of researchers at all levels in a collegiate environment; and to learn new things and meet new people with common interests.
