The Turbomachinery Laboratory is excited to participate in the Turbomachinery Technical Conference & Exposition (Turbo Expo) this year in Boston, Massachusetts.
The conference, hosted by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) International Gas Turbine Institute, is scheduled for June 26-30. Experts worldwide will come together to share their latest academic findings in turbine technology, research, development, and application.
The faculty and students of the Turbomachinery Laboratory will present 16 technical papers and host several sessions, while the staff will represent the Lab at booth 416 during the expo’s exhibition.
Turbo Lab papers submitted to the conference are often accepted by ASME’s Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power or Journal of Turbomachinery journals. Papers undergo a stringent review process to become journal-ready. They must be interesting, original, innovative, and significantly relevant to the gas turbine industry, according to the ASME evaluation guidelines.
Dr. Luis San Andrés, Mast-Childs Chair and recently retired professor of the Turbomachinery Laboratory, will receive the ASME Mayo D. Hersey Award for his sustained and innovative research that has significantly enhanced the rotordynamic performance of gas bearings. His research has been applied to oil-free turbomachinery, with the aim of increasing efficiency and reducing emissions.
See below for details on Turbomachinery Laboratory’s participation in the 2023 ASME Turbo Expo.
