Antitrust Policy
It is the policy of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) to abide by all antitrust laws and to avoid any activities that could create even an appearance of impropriety. At conferences and meetings (advisory, consortium, or other organized meetings) sponsored by Turbomachinery Laboratory, there should be no discussion of prices, fees, wages, or costs or any matters affecting prices, fees, wages, or costs. There should be no discussions directed toward refusing to deal with any person or entity. Any survey, formal or informal, of the business practices of members (advisory committee member, consortium member, leaders, exhibitors, etc.) must be approved by the Director of the Turbomachinery Laboratory before it may be conducted. Any person or member who is unsure whether an activity raises antitrust concerns should notify the Director of the Turbomachinery Laboratory either directly or through Turbomachinery Laboratory staff, of the activity immediately.
Privacy Policy
Introduction
The Turbomachinery Laboratory (TL), a center of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and part of the Texas A&M University System is a professional association for people who work in the petrochemical, oil refining, oil and gas production, utility, power, water, and related industries. We do not knowingly attempt to solicit or receive information from children.
We understand that you are aware of and care about your own personal privacy interests, and we take that seriously. This Privacy Notice describes the TL’s policies and practices regarding its collection and use of your personal data and sets forth your privacy rights. We recognize that information privacy is an ongoing responsibility, and so we will from time to time update this policy as we undertake new personal data practices or adopt new privacy policies.

How we collect and use (process) your personal information
The TL collects personal information about its members and other customers. With a few exceptions, this information is limited to the kinds of information that can be found on a business card: first name, last name, job title, employer name, work address, work email, and work phone number. We use this information to provide members and customers with goods and services, including membership services, privacy and data protection content, certification, training, and the like. We do not sell personal information to anyone and only share it with third parties who are facilitating the delivery of TL services.
When and how we share information with others
Information about your TL purchases and certification status are maintained in association with your membership or profile account. The personal information the TL collects from you is stored in one or more databases hosted by third parties located in the United States. These third parties do not use or have access to your personal information for any purpose other than cloud storage and retrieval. On occasion, the TL engages third parties to mail information to you, including items like books you may have purchased, or material from an event sponsor.
Transferring personal data from the EU to the US
The TL has its headquarters in the United States. Information we collect from you will be processed in the United States. The United States has not sought nor received a finding of “adequacy” from the European Union under Article 45 of the GDPR. The TL relies on derogations for specific situations as set forth in Article 49 of the GDPR. In particular, the TL collects and transfers to the U.S. personal data only: with your consent; to perform a contract with you; or to fulfill a compelling legitimate interest of the TL in a manner that does not outweigh your rights and freedoms. The TL endeavors to apply suitable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of your personal data and to use it only consistent with your relationship with the TL and the practices described in this Privacy Notice. The TL also enters into data processing agreements and model clauses with its vendors whenever feasible and appropriate.

Security of your information
To help protect the privacy of data and personally identifiable information you transmit through use of this Site, we maintain physical, technical and administrative safeguards. We update and test our security technology on an ongoing basis. We restrict access to your personal data to those employees who need to know that information to provide benefits or services to you. In addition, we train our employees about the importance of confidentiality and maintaining the privacy and security of your information. We commit to taking appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce our employees’ privacy responsibilities.
Data storage and retention
Your personal data is stored by the TL on its servers, and on the servers of the cloud-based database management services the TL engages, located in the United States. The TL retains data for the duration of the customer’s or member’s business relationship with the TL and for a period of time thereafter to allow members to recover accounts if they decide to renew, to analyze the data for TL’s own operations, and for historical and archiving purposes associated with TL’s history as a membership association. As our organization, membership and benefits change from time to time, this Privacy Notice and Conditions of Use is expected to change as well. We reserve the right to amend the Privacy Notice and Conditions of Use at any time, for any reason, without notice to you, other than the posting of the amended Privacy Notice and Conditions of Use at this Site. We may e-mail periodic reminders of our notices and terms and conditions and will e-mail TL members of material changes thereto, but you should check our Site frequently to see the current Privacy Notice and Conditions of Use that is in effect and any changes that may have been made to it.
